safe Bonder/active prot E/Mo (8 vs 8)
This build might look strange at the first sight, but it's actually good one.
Attributes:
Energy storage 12+2
Protection Prayers 12
Equipment:
Holy staff 20% cast/20% recharge Prot. prayers with +20% longer enchantments (!) and +5 energy
(requirements for the staff are only important for dmg, we don't need dmg as a Monk)
Armor as you like
Skills:
Aegis
Protective spirit
Reversal of fortune/Shielding hands
Ether Prodigy (E) - the key to this build
Life Bond
Mend Ailment
Remove hex/Smite hex/Holy veil
Free slot e.g Guardian
Now this build has 4 big advantages over standard Mo bonder with Blessed signet as a energy management:
1. You always have Positive energy regeneration of (4 + 6(Ether Prodigy)) - 7 (7 Life bonds are on people) = +3. So when someone drains your energy (and it will definetely do!) you will NOT lose any bonds.
2. You cast Ether Prodigy every 25 sec (or sooner if it's removed) so you can always maintain it (21 + 20% ~ 25), it has only 1 sec casting time. On the other hand Blessed signet, which is cast every 10 sec, has casting time of 2 and it is far more easily interrupted/disabled by interrupters/shutdowners Me or R than Ether prodigy. E.g. in 50 sec, you spend 5*2 = 10 seconds casting blessed sig, but only 2*1 = 2 sec. So roughly speaking using Ether prodigy instead of Blessed signet is 5 times safer!
3. When you die, you can easily recast your bonds, unlike Mo Bonder which has problems with energy when this happens.
4. Can protect like any other active Prot because +3 energy regeneration are quite enough to constantly use Aegis, Prot Spirit, Mend Ailment and so on.

Toss in balthazar's spirit for maximum energy gain (self cast). Lower energy storage and dump those points into healing and bring heal party. With a 5 second recharge, you don't really need that much duration out of EP and you won't need that big of an energy pool, with EP and BS running. Since you'll want to stand in back anyway, you can use heal party (radar range) while aegis recharges. Actually, I'm not sure aegis is that good of an idea. Not getting hit means less energy for you.

good idea, but i still think a normal bonder is better, because of these two thingies:
1. you won't stand for a long (~7 minutes) fight, since you will be exhausted.
2. every 24-26 seconds you should expect a big (~160 damage) spike on you, from ether prodigy. this can be anticipated by the enemy team, and they could spike you. also, your infuser might get confused and infuse you, wasting some of his energy...
btw, prodigy has a recharge of 5 seconds.

Wrong, you can last 15+ minutes, around 12 if you are getting constant drained, and if you save when it's possible that's 20 min.

That won't happen because you will use prot skills often.

If they are so organised, why wouldn't they simply Interrupt your blessed signet with distracting and then simply drain your mana anyway?
